SENIORS: 

If you plan to go to college or vocational school after graduation you should apply for a pin number now.  Go to www.pin.ed.gov  to complete the application process.   You must have one in order to complete the FAFSA application.

 

PARENTS:

Americorps Program – A federally funded community service program that offers experience in the fields of environmental education, volunteer management, construction, or horticulture and landscaping.  Scholarship opportunities up to $4,725.00 are available.  Contact:  Jolie Busy at 501-727-6234 or email jbusby@uawri.org for more information.

 

Students may pick up a 2007-2008 ACT packet in the counselor’s office or apply on line at www.actstudent.org Registration cost is $30.00.  Morrilton High School Code is:  041-710

 

Test dates for the 2007-2008 ACT:

June 14, 2008…Deadline May 9, 2008 – May 10-23, 2008

 

Any parent of a Morrilton High School student who is employed by Kimberly Clark in either Conway or Maumelle please contact Mrs. Rainey (354-9431) about participating in the Community Partners Program.

 

Students:

If you are interested in taking a test to see what career might suit you or in researching some different careers try www.careers-internet.org and use 1891 as the user name and free as the password.

Ayn Rand Essay Contest – The Fountainhead – For 11th and 12th graders – www.aynrand.org/contests

May 15, 2008 The Arkansas Society of Professional Engineers Scholarship – For seniors planning to major in engineering.
June 10, 2008 Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Conservation Scholarship – Minimum 2.5 grade point required.  For students interested In working in conservation related fields.  This could be biology, physics, environmental science, wildlife management, etc. 
July 1, 2008 Arkansas High-Tech Scholarship – Must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and minimum ACT score of 19 and plan to complete some sort of technical program after high school.  
July 3 1, 2008 Deborah Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star H.I.P.E.T.E. Scholarship – Must have a 2.5 or higher GPA, 3 letters of recommendation, transcript, and essay required.
