The 2012 MHS Ayer pageant is scheduled for Sat. Mar.
3. Practices will be the week before. Ladies who are interested
in participating need to see Mrs. Bratton and complete registration before
Feb. 17. Thanks!

Math club will be selling TV grams write a message to your special someone
or just a friend. See the message through the week of Valentine’s Day. They
will be $1. each. See Mrs. Griggs, Mr. Bingham, KT Davis, Emily Bird,
Madison Meaders, Hart Beijen, or Evan Griggs to fill out a message slip.

COMP II STUDENTS AND SENIORS WHO HAVE SERVICE LEARNING OFF CAMPUS FIRST
PERIOD: Please come by the counselor’s office at your convenience and pick
up the papers that will be handed out during first period on Monday. (They
give you the opportunity to win things during Say Go College Week).

The English portion of the ACT will be this morning during first period. If
you are registered for tomorrow’s ACT, go straight to the auditorium. The
Science Reasoning portion is during 3rd period today. You should
go straight to the auditorium at the beginning of 3rd period for
that workshop.

Remember to be here at 7:45 in the morning if you are registered for this
ACT. Bring #2 pencils, picture ID, and a calculator.

SENIORS: You can now go to
www.adhe.edu and complete the Universal Application for the Arkansas
Academy Challenge/Lottery Scholarship. Be sure that you use an email address
that you check regularly and write down and keep the password that you use!
DO NOT wait until you have completed the FAFSA to do this. You will need to
complete the FAFSA at a later date but not before. Come to the counselor’s
office if you have questions or need help.

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR SRS: We have just been informed that the College Goal
Sunday event on Feb. 19th (help with your FAFSA) will not be available at
UACCM this year. The closest one will be at UCA in Conway. You should,
however, proceed with going online and getting Pin numbers for you and your
parents, gather the information that is on the sheet of paper given to you
earlier in the year and plan to attend the Financial Aid Workshop for MHS on
March 8 in the computer lab AT UACCM. You may come anytime between 4:30 and
7:00 p.m. If you bring all that information with you, you can complete your
FAFSA in a matter of minutes (with expert help there should you need it). If
you have questions about this, come by the counselor’s office.

Juniors: Any junior who would like to visit with the representative from
Arkansas Tech University should sign a list in the counselor’s office. She
will be here on Feb. 16th at 1:15.

Seniors: If you have an Oppelo or Perry address and/or your parents are
members of the First Electric Trust (and you have a 3.0 grade point average
or higher) you should come to the counselor’s office to pick up a
scholarship application.

JUNIORS: If your parents are customers of First Electric, there is
information available for you in the counselor’s office regarding the
competition for the 23rd annual all-expenses-paid Rural Electric
Youth Tour to Washington, D. C. Deadline: April 2nd, 2012.

The Thea Foundation for
the Arts Scholarship Awards have been announced! These students not only
will receive money, but several Arkansas colleges have matching partnerships
with Thea Foundation. All the 6 pieces entered were awesome. From all the
entries across the state only 25 were picked and our students are in the TOP
10! WOW...check out their article
