Wilkerson-You may pick up your birthday pencil in the counselor’s office.
1. Devil Dog Daze,
the MHS Video Yearbook you saw playing during lunch Friday, can still be
purchased in the EAST Lab for $15.00. You only saw a very limited amount of
the DVD Friday...so purchase your copy today. Also Senior Slide Show DVDs
can be purchased in the EAST Lab for $5.00.
2. Juniors:
Laptops must be returned to Mrs. Stell by Thursday, May 22nd.

Driving privileges will be restored to students whose privileges were
revoked, during semester test days
ONLY. (5/28-5/30)
4. Attention
Students: The nameplates for the yearbooks are here. If you need
one, please bring your yearbook to Mrs. Stobaugh's room.
5. The volleyball team will sponsor their annual sand
volleyball tournament on June 28th during Pig Out. The entry fee is
$40 per team and there will be male, female and coed divisions. Entry
forms can be found in the gym on the black table.
6. Sophomores,
Juniors, Seniors: There is information in the counselors’
office about a summer program (July 13-18) with the Arkansas State Police
for students considering a career with them. Deadline for application
is May 30th.
7. Soccer players who have not turned in all of their
equipment need to see Coach Swymn ASAP if you want to graduate or have your
grades released at the end of this year. Here is the list of names
that need to see Coach Swymn: Darius Wright, Juan Becerra, Osmar
Garcia, Bruce Jones, Hunter Mullins, Billy Evans, Kate Adams, Casey
Childers, MaKayla Collinsworth, Amber DePriest, Amanda
Fillinger, Alexis Knowles, Sophie Leblanc, Jessica Pelsynski, Aimee
Robin, Jovana Rosas, Hannah Tyner, Hannah Wofford, Margie
Anderson.

New York City
trip participants and their parents need to meet with Ms. Jones in the
cafeteria Monday, 5-19-08 at 5:00.
9. Seniors
please come by the EAST Lab and pick up the pictures you brought for the
Senior Slide Show ASAP.
10. Seniors:
Those of you who have not voted for your favorite staff member here at MHS
(who has positively impacted your life), please submit the name of the adult
you would like to win to the Counselors' Office by Wednesday, May 14. Any
donations for the plaque they will receive would be greatly
appreciated. If you have questions about the award, ask Mrs. Rainey or
Student Council President, Gabrielle Pruitt.
11. There is information available in the
counselor’s office regarding an Engineering Scholars Program for high
school students this summer at UALR. Applications may be picked up in
the counselor’s office and are due back to UALR by May 19th,
2008.
12. SENIORS:
There is information available in the counselor’s office about internship
programs with the Arkansas State Police that are entered while you are
attending college. It is for criminal justice majors, computer science
majors, video productions majors and others.
13. There is information available in the
counselor’s office regarding a summer volunteer program at St. Mary’s
Regional
Medical
Center
in Russellville for students ages 14-18. It will run from June 13
through August 8th and the deadline for applying if May 1st.
14. There is information available in the
counselor’s office and in Mr. Clay’s room about some workshop
opportunities for high school students at UALR this summer. They are
primarily in the areas of Engineering and Information Technology.
15. Information is available in the counselor’s
office regarding the National Leadership Forum June 8-13 at
Harding
University
and the Arkansas Farm Bureau annual Teen Challenge Camp which will be held
at
Ferndale
on June 16-19th. The local Farm Bureau may give some
assistance with the tuition required for these events. If you are
interested get information in the counselor’s office.
R-U-N-3-D? Devil Dog Daze...3D, the
video yearbook produced by the MHS EAST Lab students, is still for sale in
the EAST Lab for $15.00.
The Senior Slide Show DVD is also available for $5.00.
