Dear Parents and Guardians of Bus Riders,
With afternoon temperatures reaching 100 degrees or higher, we want to take additional steps to help keep our students safe and as comfortable as possible during their bus ride home.
Beginning today, the South Conway County School District will provide cold bottled water to students riding our buses home in the afternoons when temperatures are extremely hot.
Our school buses are equipped with air conditioning; however, during extreme heat, it can be difficult for the air conditioning systems to keep upâespecially when buses are making frequent stops and opening their doors. When appropriate, we will also allow bus windows to be opened to increase airflow and help keep the buses cooler.
We will continue providing bottled water during afternoon routes for as long as temperatures remain extremely hot.
Thank you for your understanding and, most importantly, for the trust you place in us each day. The safety and well-being of your children are extremely important to us. We will continue doing everything we reasonably can to keep them safe, hydrated, and comfortable while they are in our care.
Thank you for your continued partnership and trust in the South Conway County School District.
