The South Conway County School District is deeply saddened by the passing of Mr. Henry Turner, long-time principal of North Side Elementary School.
Mr. Turner touched countless lives through his leadership, kindness, and unwavering dedication to students, staff, and the Morrilton community. He was more than an educator—he was a mentor, a role model, and a true Devil Dog at heart. His passion for education and his love for people made a lasting impact that will continue to inspire generations to come.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Mr. Turner’s family and loved ones. His legacy of excellence, compassion, and Devil Dog pride will forever remain part of who we are as a district and community.

HISTORY MADE: Coach Cody McNabb Earns Win No. 109 — Most in Devil Dog Football History
The Morrilton Devil Dogs proudly celebrate Head Football Coach Cody McNabb on his 109th career victory, surpassing the great Doyne Davis for the most wins by a head coach in program history.
Since arriving in 2010, Coach McNabb has built teams defined by effort, toughness, grit, and class—the true Devil Dog Spirit of our school and community. His 2013 squad captured the 5A State Championship, and his teams have reached the playoffs in 12 of 15 seasons, including 2 semifinal appearances, 6 quarterfinal runs, and 1 state title.
“Coach McNabb’s consistency and character represent the very best of Morrilton,” said Superintendent Shawn Halbrook. “His leadership reflects our commitment to love, serve, and care for people—and to pursue excellence in all we do.”

MIS students had a visit today from the K-9 unit where they heard information and watched a demonstration. Thanks to Officer McGary for arranging this for us. #LoveServeCare4People
6th grade Science students designing cups to work as well as a store bought insulated cup. Has to be environmentally friendly, cost efficient and met diameter guidelines.
