Morrilton High School Earns GreatSchools’ 2024–2025 College Success Award
National recognition celebrates public high schools that prepare students to enroll and succeed in college
MORRILTON, AR (April 2026) – Morrilton High School has been recognized as one of the nation’s top public high schools for preparing students for college success, earning GreatSchools’ 2024–2025 College Success Award. Presented annually by GreatSchools, the nation’s leading nonprofit providing school information to parents and families, the award honors schools that excel at preparing students to enroll and thrive in college, as determined by available state data.
Morrilton High School is one of a select group of schools in Arkansas that have demonstrated a successful track record of graduating students who enroll in two- or four-year colleges, are prepared for college-level coursework, and persist into their second year.
The College Success Award is made possible by Arkansas's continued leadership in collecting and transparently sharing data on how graduates perform after high school—valuable information for families, educators, and policymakers.
“This recognition is a direct reflection of the hard work of our students, the commitment of our teachers and staff, and the support of our families and community,” said Shawn Halbrook, Superintendent of South Conway County School District. “At Morrilton High School, we are focused on preparing every child for success beyond graduation—whether that is college, career, or service. This award affirms that we are equipping our students with the knowledge, skills, and habits they need to thrive.”
Morrilton High School supports students’ college readiness through a strong focus on rigorous academic instruction, access to Career and Technical Education pathways, concurrent credit opportunities, targeted interventions, and intentional academic and college counseling. These efforts ensure that every student has access to opportunities that open doors for their future.
“Every student deserves the chance to thrive in college and beyond, and schools like Morrilton High School are making that vision a reality,” said Jon Deane, CEO of GreatSchools. “This award celebrates the dedication of educators, families, and students who work together to create opportunities that open doors to brighter futures.”
