During Power Hour, we have a few groups building background knowledge about the government to go along with their reading unit. This week their focus was on different government jobs and they researched the Coast Guard, the National Park Service, and the United States Postal Service. They got to do some art this afternoon to tie it all together. ⚓️⛴️
Mayor Allen Lipsmeyer visited with 2nd Grade today to help build knowledge about government. They are learning about governmental services in the community and identifying functions of governments such as establishing order, providing security, and managing conflict. Thank you, Mayor!

There will be no school for students in the South Conway County School District for grades PreK- 12 on Friday, October 13th.
No school for students in grades K-12 on Monday, October 16th for Fall Break. PreK students will have school on Monday, October 16th.
K-12 Students will return to school on Tuesday, October 17th.

Can you believe it is the end of the 1st quarter?! We are celebrating good behavior and attendance today! First up, these 32 students AND their parents deserve a round of applause for coming to school every single minute of every day this 9 weeks!! We are celebrating with a pizza party! 🍕🎉

Morrilton Junior High School has been recognized by the Office for Education Policy (OEP) at the University of Arkansas as a school that is Beating the Odds, because students at Morrilton Junior High School demonstrated high growth on the ACT Aspire in mathematics even though the school serves a high percentage of students who participate in Free and Reduced Lunch!
