The South Conway County School District proudly announces that Morrilton Junior High School has been recognized by the Office for Education Policy (OEP) at the University of Arkansas as a "Beating the Odds" high-performing school. This prestigious recognition is awarded to schools where students have demonstrated high academic growth on the ATLAS assessment, despite serving a high percentage of students participating in Free and Reduced Lunch.
In addition to this honor, Morrilton Junior High School ranked:
🏆 5th overall for "High Poverty" Middle Schools in ATLAS Growth in the entire State of Arkansas
🏆 10th overall for "High Poverty" Middle Schools in ATLAS Math Growth in the entire State of Arkansas
🏆 5th overall for "High Poverty" Middle Schools in ATLAS ELA (English Language Arts) Growth in the entire State of Arkansas
Each year, the OEP releases its Outstanding Educational Performance Awards, highlighting schools across the state that significantly impact student learning. Academic growth is the best measure of a school's positive influence on its students, and this award confirms that MJHS is helping students exceed expectations and achieve success.

1. Bus 5 will not run Rebstock road
2. Bus 74 will not run Simpson Lane
3. Bus 35 will not run West Perry County Line Road. Students on Blue Point Road can meet the bus at the intersection of Blue Point Road and Ada Valley Road
4. Bus 72 will not run York Drive, Parrette Lake Road,or Sandtown Road
5. Bus 76 will not run Robb Road, Ragsdale Mountain Road or Mt. Pisgah Road
7. Bus 4 will not run Bell Mountain Road or Cobblestone Road
8. Bus 39 will not run Caney Valley Road

The District Administration has been out checking roads this afternoon. Many roads are in very good condition.
For the safety of our students, staff, and families, South Conway County School District will delay the start of school by two (2 ) hours to 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2025. This delay will allow for improved travel conditions in the morning.
There will be some modifications to bus routes, which will be communicated later this evening. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to ensure a safe return to school.
With freezing rain and sleet already impacting our area and additional winter precipitation in the forecast, the South Conway County School District will cancel school for Wednesday, February 19, 2025. The safety of our students, staff, and families remains our top priority, and current conditions make travel hazardous.

Hello MES Families! We hope you’re staying warm while we wait on the winter weather. While school is closed today, learning can still continue at home.
❄️If your child has internet access, they can log in to Google Classroom and/or IXL to find assignments and activities from their teacher.
❄️If internet access is not available, students can practice handwriting and work on math facts to keep their skills sharp.
❄️They can also practice their writing skills by writing about their dream snow day.
❄️Reading a book together is another great way to spend the day!
All teachers are available through email and Rooms today. Thank you for your support in keeping our students engaged, even on snow days! Stay safe and enjoy the day!
Due to the latest forecast and current weather models, SCCSD will err on the side of caution and cancel school for Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
