🎉 Fourth Annual Hall of Distinction Banquet 🎉

South Conway County School District Superintendent Shawn Halbrook has announced that the Fourth Annual Hall of Distinction Banquet will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, at Devil Dog Arena.

Presidents’ Day – No School Monday, February 16, 2026

The South Conway County School District will observe Presidents’ Day on Monday, February 16, 2026. There will be no school for students in grades Pre-K through 12.

Presidents’ Day is a time to reflect on the leadership, service, and principles that have shaped our nation. We encourage our families to enjoy the day together.

Students will return to school on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

Winter Break – No School Friday, February 15

The South Conway County School District will not have school for students in grades Pre-K through 12 on Friday, February 15, for Winter Break.

We hope our students and families enjoy a restful and refreshing long weekend. We look forward to welcoming everyone back, ready to learn and grow.

Important Reminder for SCCSD Families:

Due to winter weather, Thursday, February 12, is a Snow Make-Up Day, and students will be in school (PreK–12).

Parent-Teacher Conferences will take place on Thursday, February 12th from 3:45–7:45 p.m.

There will be no school on Friday, February 13 (Winter Break) and Monday, February 16 (Presidents’ Day).

Thank you for your continued support and partnership as we maximize learning for our students.

Valentine deliveries will be accepted at MES on Thursday, February 12. For the safety of our students and bus drivers, students are not allowed to bring any item onto the bus that will not fit into their backpack. Also, please remember that NO GLASS is allowed on the bus.

The South Conway County School District Board of Education proudly honored Buck Joyner and Craig Mullins for 15 years of faithful service to the scholars, staff, and community of SCCSD. Their steady leadership, wise stewardship, and long-term vision have helped position our district for lasting success.

During their tenure, SCCSD experienced transformational growth in both facilities and learning, including:

🏫 Facilities, Safety & Student Spaces
• The 2015 millage election providing a safe room on every campus
• Rebuilding Morrilton Primary School
• Construction of Devil Dog Arena
• Major improvements to Devil Dog Stadium
• Secured entrances and safety upgrades across campuses
• Expansion of athletic and student facilities through Devil Dog Yard

📚 Curriculum & Academic Growth
• Implementation of high-quality instructional materials across grade levels
• Districtwide focus on Science of Reading and strong early literacy foundations
• Implementation of Illustrative Math K-12
• Continued emphasis on data-driven instruction and student growth

📈 Academic Outcomes
• Morrilton Junior High School earning an “A” rating
• South Conway County School District earning an overall “B” rating from the State of Arkansas
• Sustained academic growth while maintaining a strong focus on student safety and opportunity

Because of their service, SCCSD is stronger, safer, and more focused on student learning than ever before. Their leadership leaves a lasting legacy for our scholars, staff, and community.
