Washington Nationals and former Razorback pitcher, Evan Lee, stopped by to help the Morrilton Devil Dog Baseball Team today.
Evan went to kindergarten, 1st grade, & 2nd grade at Morrilton. His father, Mike Lee, is the new Head Devil Dog Baseball Coach.

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,
The South Conway County School District (SCCSD) had to amend policy 4.66 in the Student Handbooks and District Policy Manual to satisfy conditions with USDA and the state of Arkansas on a meal charge policy.
At this time, we are a Community Eligible Provision (CEP) school district. CEP means SCCSD students receive breakfast and lunch at no cost. If the SCCSD ever loses the CEP status, the SCCSD will have to return to collecting money from students for Paid Breakfast and Lunch. This policy reflects a charge policy if the SCCSD loses its CEP status. Nothing changes for this school year.
This is the new policy:
4.66 FOOD SERVICES Effective: September 12, 2023
It shall be the policy of the Board of Education that:
A. Free or reduced price lunches shall be provided for children whose parents meet eligibility requirements as set by the Arkansas Division of Elementary and Secondary Education and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Parents must fill out forms provided by the school to determine eligibility before free and reduced lunches can be served.
B. School Meal Charges
1. All student meals are to be paid for in advance or on the day of purchase. Student should only charge meals when, on occasion, money is not available in their accounts or in their pockets. The option to charge meals is extended as a courtesy and in compliance with Arkansas Act 428.
2. A student meal account is not a charge account where bills should be expected to collect lunch charges. Any accounts that reach $15.00 in charges for students eligible for full-price meals, or reach $5.00 for students eligible for reduced-price meals, will be considered excessive. The school district will initiate collection activity to recover the cost of charges from the household.
3. The school district reserves the right to initiate any collection action as may be appropriate to collect past due balances as long as such collection activities are compliant with Arkansas Act 428.
C. If schools in the District are a Community Eligible Provision (CEP) school, Paragraphs A and B of this policy are void.

The SCCSD internet and phone service is not working at this time due to a power outage at the district office complex.
