The South Conway County School District Board of Education proudly honored Buck Joyner and Craig Mullins for 15 years of faithful service to the scholars, staff, and community of SCCSD. Their steady leadership, wise stewardship, and long-term vision have helped position our district for lasting success.

During their tenure, SCCSD experienced transformational growth in both facilities and learning, including:

• The 2015 millage election providing a safe room on every campus
• Rebuilding Morrilton Primary School
• Construction of Devil Dog Arena
• Major improvements to Devil Dog Stadium
• Secured entrances and safety upgrades across campuses
• Expansion of athletic and student facilities through Devil Dog Yard

• Implementation of high-quality instructional materials across grade levels

A special congratulations to Isaac Torres, Bella Benson, and Phoebe Spradlin, who represented MIS Beta Club with excellence, confidence, and creativity. Their performance showcased not only talent, but teamwork, leadership, and school pride.

Bus Route Modifications – Wednesday, February 4

For the safety of our scholars and due to road conditions, the South Conway County School District will have the following bus route modifications on Wednesday, February 4:

Bus 4: Students who normally ride on Woodland Road will need to meet at the Menifee Post Office.

Bus 72: Students who normally ride on York Drive will need to meet at the intersection of Gordon Brake and Mt. Zion Loop.

Due to current road conditions, the following bus route modifications will be in place on Tuesday, February 3:

Bus 72: Students on York Drive will meet at the intersection of Gordon Brake and Mt. Zion Loop.

Bus 4: Students on Woodland Drive will meet at the Menifee Post Office.

Due to last week’s winter weather, the South Conway County School District missed five consecutive days of school, resulting in the loss of five valuable Tier 1 instructional days for our students. Because teaching and learning matter—and in alignment with our mission to maximize safety and learning, students will make up one of those snow days on Thursday, February 12.

Thursday, February 12th, will be a student learning day for grades PreK–12, following the regular school schedule.
Important details for Thursday, February 12:
• Student Learning Day (PreK–12)
• Regular school hours: 8:00 a.m. – 3:25 p.m.
• Parent-Teacher Conferences: 3:45 p.m. – 7:45 p.m.

By using February 12 as a learning day, the district will regain 6.3666 hours of instructional time, helping offset the loss of Tier 1 instructional time due to winter weather and ensuring students receive the learning opportunities they need to stay on track.

• Monday, February 16 – Presidents’ Day (No School)

Please ensure students arrive a few minutes early and use caution at all pick-up locations. We will continue to monitor conditions and communicate any changes.

The South Conway County School District will be in session on Monday, February 2, 2026, beginning at 8:00 a.m.

The District will announce snow routes later this evening via the District App and social media.

As we begin a new school week following winter weather, please keep the following safety reminders in mind:
• Give yourself extra time when traveling to and from school, especially if you are dropping off or picking up a student.
• Please be patient during drop-off and pick-up, as traffic may move more slowly than normal.
• Remind your student to use caution when arriving on campus, particularly in areas where icy patches may still be present.
• Allow extra space between your vehicle and the one in front of you during drop-off and pick-up.

We have truly missed our students this past week and are excited to welcome them back to school. We look forward to seeing everyone on Monday!
