🏀 Thank You, Devil Dog Nation! 🏀
South Conway County School District was honored to recently host the Class 4A State Basketball Tournament at Devil Dog Arena. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to every worker and volunteer who gave their time and energy to make this tournament an outstanding experience for teams, fans, and families from across Arkansas.
Because of you, visitors experienced the excellence, kindness, and hospitality that define our school district and our community. Throughout the tournament, we received many compliments on Devil Dog Arena and the cleanliness, hospitality, and organization of the event, which reflects the pride our people take in serving others well.
Since 2018, Devil Dog Arena has hosted five state tournaments, including:
• Two 1A State Basketball Tournaments in partnership with the Wonderview School District
• Two 4A State Basketball Tournaments
• One 4A State Volleyball Tournament
In addition, Devil Dog Arena has hosted three regional tournaments:
• Two 4A Regional Basketball Tournaments

And the excitement will continue as Devil Dog Arena is scheduled to host the 4A State Volleyball Tournament in the Fall of 2026.
Devil Dog Arena is truly one of the premier venues in Arkansas for hosting events like these. But what makes it special is not just the facility — it is the people who step forward to serve, welcome, and support others.

This week, members of the South Conway County School District Board of Education had the opportunity to visit our ABC Preschool Program at Morrilton Primary School.
Board members Brian Toney, John Gibson, and Elaine Sullivan spent time seeing firsthand the incredible work taking place with our youngest Devil Dogs. From early literacy foundations to social-emotional development, our ABC program is focused on building strong beginnings for every child we serve.
They also learned more about the Fueling Brains initiative we have launched at Morrilton Primary. This program strengthens early cognitive development by intentionally building executive function skills, self-regulation, language, and foundational brain growth during the most critical learning years. Investing in brain development early gives our scholars a stronger pathway to long-term academic success.
The ABC Preschool Program plays a vital role in preparing students for kindergarten and beyond. Through intentional instruction, nurturing relationships, and a safe, structured environment, our team is laying the groundwork for lifelong learning.
We are grateful for board members who take the time to be present, ask thoughtful questions, and stay connected to the daily work happening in our classrooms. When leadership stays engaged in early learning, our scholars win.
