The South Conway County School District is proud to announce that Morrilton Junior High School has earned an A rating for the 2024 school year in the Unofficial Arkansas Simulated School Rating System—a remarkable improvement from the school's 2023 letter grade of C.
This outstanding achievement is a direct result of the hard work, dedication, and collaboration of the entire MJHS community. From the visionary leadership of the administration, to the tireless commitment of our teachers and support staff, to the grit and determination of our students, this rating reflects what can be accomplished when a school unites behind a shared mission of learning, growth, and success.
“We are incredibly proud of Morrilton Junior High School for this well-deserved recognition,” said Superintendent Shawn Halbrook. “This A rating speaks volumes about the dedication of our educators, the resilience of our students, and the support of our families. It represents more than academic achievement—it reflects a culture of high expectations, continuous improvement, and belief in every child’s potential.”
The district also extends sincere gratitude to the families of MJHS students, whose ongoing support and partnership have played a critical role in this success. The commitment to learning from home to school continues to be a key driver in student growth and achievement.
As Morrilton Junior High continues its journey of excellence, this recognition affirms that MJHS is not just improving but thriving. Together, we are living out the mission of the South Conway County School District: to maximize the safety, learning, and achievement of every scholar—today and every day.
Congratulations, MJHS! You’ve earned it. 🎉

Molly Fletcher shared this on her X feed:
"What Geno Auriemma, Head Coach of the University of Connecticut Women’s Basketball Team, told his team before the Final Four… might be the best mindset advice you’ll hear all year. Geno has 12 national titles… and until Sunday, had a losing record in the Final Four. Before the game, he told his team:
“Nobody introduces me as the guy who lost 12 Final Fours.”
The message? People don’t define you by failure. They remember how you showed up.
So stop obsessing over the outcome.
Do the work. And give it everything you’ve got.
If it’s good enough, you’ll get the win.
If it’s not? Hold your head high and keep moving forward.
Just don’t let fear be the thing that holds you back."
